Chocolate manufacturers are not acting sustainably
VIER PFOTEN evaluates 18 global chocolate producers on Mother's Day with regard to milk reduction strategies.
Swiss chocolate only mediocre
VIER PFOTEN has examined the world's largest chocolate manufacturers. Coop and Migros achieve only an average result. Lindt & Sprüngli and Nestlé perform even worse. None of the companies has a strategy for reducing dairy products.
Overproduction harbours climate risks
Cow's milk causes two to four times more greenhouse gas emissions than plant-based milk. Land use is more than ten times as high. «42% of Swiss dairy cows have to spend their lives in tethered housing,» says Julia Fischer of VIER PFOTEN.
