Hobby hunter wanted after sexual offence

In Carinthia, police are searching for a hobby hunter who allegedly assaulted a girl and fled into the forest.

Sexual coercion of a minor

Since Tuesday night, the Carinthian police have been conducting an intensive manhunt for a local resident who allegedly assaulted a girl, was caught in the act, and fled into the forest.

In St. Georgen am Längsee in the district of St. Veit an der Glan in Carinthia, an alleged case of abuse is reported to have occurred on the night of Wednesday, 5 September 2023. An adult, who according to local sources is believed to be a hobby hunter, allegedly subjected a minor to sexual coercion. The girl is reported to have been injured and is currently receiving inpatient treatment.

Large-scale manhunt with Cobra units and helicopters

According to information from oe24, the wanted hobby hunter fled in his car; the vehicle is said to have since been found in the forested area near Hochosterwitz Castle. The search for the man has been under way since the evening hours of Tuesday, repeatedly involving helicopters, with police dogs deployed alongside the Cobra special unit and the rapid response team.

Armed and at risk of suicide
