Environmental Problem: Frog Legs
France consumes 4,000 tonnes of frog legs annually. The majority comes from wild animal populations and endangers amphibian populations worldwide.
4’000 Tonnes of Frog Legs per Year
Approximately 4’000 tonnes of frog legs are consumed in France each year. In France itself, the edible frog species have been protected for decades. Around 2’800 tonnes are imported from abroad, primarily from Indonesia.
