European initiatives
CoRAC has launched a European initiative made up of associations campaigning for a general hunting ban. The aim is to show the public that there is growing demand not only at national but also at international level. We seek to achieve our goals by peaceful means through the dissemination of information, the spreading of science, journalism and reporting. All associations remain completely independent of one another, and over time the initiative will inevitably expand to include new bodies pursuing the same goals.
Austria:
The Abolition of Hunting Initiative is a platform of individuals, organisations and groups who no longer support the killing of wild animals in Austria's forests and fields by hunters. Their task is to unite all forces and interest groups in Austria, and their goal is the prohibition of hunting in our country. It was deliberately founded as an initiative and not as an association, and it does not wish to compete with animal and nature conservation associations, but rather to work in an integrative way. The initiative presents itself as a network of associations and individuals who wish to advocate for the wild animals pursued by hunters.

France:
The aim of the Collective for a France without Hunting (CoRAC) is to abolish all forms of hunting and trapping in France and to replace them with a peaceful societal model of coexistence with wild animals. This can be achieved through adapted mechanisms that enable the successful carrying out of human activities (agriculture, vegetable growing, forestry, communication, safety, health, etc.) alongside safeguarding the equally important interests of the fauna. We specialise in conveying our ideas, arguments, strategies and proposals to the public, the media and political decision-makers.

Germany:

The Abolition of Hunting Initiative is an alliance of individuals, groups and organisations who no longer wish to support the everyday madness in German forests. On ethical and ecological grounds, it rejects the continuation of hunting in Europe and pursues the goal of a general hunting ban through rational and effective public relations work as well as political influence. It was deliberately founded as an initiative and not as an association, and it does not wish to compete with animal and nature conservation associations, but rather to work in an integrative way. The initiative sees itself as a network of associations and individuals that unites the forces of all those who wish to advocate for the wild-living animals in field and forest.

Ireland:
Founded in 1966, the Irish Council Against Blood Sports is a voluntary organisation that campaigns against the hunting of wild animals with dogs and other cruel sports in which animals are exploited and abused. Our campaigns include banning hare coursing, fox and hare hunting, cruel traps and snares, and ending state funding for greyhound and horse racing.

Italy:
Founded in 1978, the Lega per l’Abolizione della Caccia [League for the Abolition of Hunting] promotes the protection of fauna as well as the conservation and restoration of the environment through legal, political, cultural, educational, informational and editorial initiatives. It is recognised as an environmental association by the Ministry of the Environment under Law No. 349 of 8 July 1986. Our statutes are based on the principle of respect for the life, dignity and freedom of all human and non-human animals, and in this spirit we fight against speciesism and all related forms of violence, abuse and exploitation.

Holland:
Since 1976, the Dutch Foundation for the Protection of Wild Animals has championed the interests of wild animals in the Netherlands. One of its main aims is to ban all forms of hunting. To achieve this, it stages protests at hunting events, seeks to counterbalance the influence of hunters and their organisations on wildlife management and nature conservation, brings legal proceedings against granted exemption permits and carries out field inspections to expose and report abuses in the context of hunting and the welfare of wild animals in general. The Faunabescherming is home to the Wild Boar Society (Zwijnensociëteit), which focuses on the protection of wild boars in the country.
Poland:
Since 2016, the Źródła Association has been at the forefront of combating hunting by monitoring matters in the context of hunting. It helps owners to exclude their land from hunting grounds, monitors the activities of hunters on the ground and stands up for people who feel threatened by the activities of hunters.
Switzerland:

Wild beim Wild is an independent animal welfare organisation based in Switzerland. Its focus is the promotion and protection of wildlife species and their habitat from the activities of hobby hunters. As a centre of expertise against hobby hunting, the IG is active in various regions of the German-speaking world and is committed to educating the public about the importance of animal and nature conservation, as well as to a sustainable approach to the environment. The IG is a hunting-critical organisation and has for years questioned the vocabulary used in this field worldwide.
Spain:

The NAC platform (No a la Caza) campaigns against hunting in every form. Its immediate aim is to end hunting with greyhounds and other breeds, while its long-term goal is the abolition of hunting in all its aspects. To this end, it has organised a demonstration every February since 2010, which has now attained international significance. The NAC platform is a non-partisan, non-denominational, anti-speciesist non-profit organisation whose fundamental aim is to raise awareness of the individual interests of non-human animals, particularly in the context of hunting, and to promote respect for them, as well as to enforce and extend their rights.
