The great Hobby Hunter Radar
Each year, hundreds of violations of hunting law are documented in Switzerland: illegal traps, poisoned bait, poaching, breaches of closed seasons. Many of them are never reported, because walkers, hikers and nature lovers do not know where to turn.
We are changing that. Report your suspected case directly here.
What you can report
You can report to us any suspected case you observe in nature:
- Illegal traps or poisoned bait
- Poaching or hunting outside the closed seasons
- Suspected violations of the Animal Welfare Act in the practice of hunting
- Hunting in protected zones or restricted areas
- Suspicious persons who may have committed a wildlife offence
- Acts of violence or threats by hobby hunters against persons
- Positive observations and good news from nature are also welcome
If you have photo or video material, send it to us together with a brief description: what, when, where.
How to proceed
- First inform the authorities: Report every concrete suspected case simultaneously to the local game warden and/or the police. At a possible crime scene the rule is: change nothing at the site.
- Document as thoroughly as possible: Photos, videos, GPS coordinates or a precise description of the location help us and the authorities considerably.
- Report the case to us: Use the form below. All information will be treated in absolute confidence.
We examine every tip-off and, if necessary, contact the responsible offices. Unfortunately, we cannot follow up reports without contact details or without verifiable information.
The association JagdSchweiz
Jagd Schweiz is the umbrella organisation of Swiss hobby hunters. According to its statutes, the association represents the interests of around 30,000 hobby hunters from all parts of the country, at home and abroad. In this capacity, the militant association bears responsibility for the existence in Switzerland of this questionable body, whose members, according to media reports, are demonstrably involved year after year in four-figure numbers in legal violations such as breaches of hunting law, poaching, arms smuggling, environmental and traffic offences, animal welfare violations and other crimes.
Legal notice
Documenting hunting activities in the field can raise legal questions, particularly when private land is entered in the process. Do not enter private land without permission. All published factual claims about persons or events must be provable. IG Wild beim Wild accepts no liability for the actions of third parties.
Report form
We assure you that all information will be treated in absolute confidence.
