«From God’s Hand»
Actress and comedy star Anke Engelke follows a vegan diet – out of conviction.
On meat substitute products, however, she has a clear opinion.
The entertainer, born on 21 December 1965 in Montreal, Canada, considers meat substitute products for vegans «utterly absurd«. «Vegetables are vegetables and bacon is bacon«, said the comedian and TV host on the podcast «Talk mit K» from the «Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger».

Vegan and vegetarian: what is the difference?
Vegans eat no animal products whatsoever, while vegetarians do consume dairy products such as cheese. In recent years, products that taste like sausage or meat but have a plant-based foundation have become increasingly fashionable.
Engelke, who also appears again in the second season of the Amazon show “Last One Laughing” (available from early October), has been a vegetarian since her teenage years. The step to a fully plant-based diet was therefore not a difficult one for her. “If anyone ever sees me eating a sausage made from real meat or drinking milk, or if I suddenly have plump lips and no more wrinkles on my face, please call the police immediately. Then I’ll have been kidnapped and forced into it.“
More on the subject of recreational hunting: What the research says about this is shown by Hunting fact-checked: the state of research.
The position of IG Wild beim Wild: IG Wild beim Wild rejects recreational hunting. Our model is the canton of Geneva, which has managed without recreational hunting since 1974: without hunting seasons, without hunting dogs, without driven hunts, without high seats, without the animal cruelty and crime that go hand in hand with hunting season elsewhere. What has worked there for over fifty years disproves every position paper by JagdSchweiz. An association that bases its policy on claims it refutes in its own documents is not a professional organisation, but a factory for misinformation.
