Animal Rights March Zurich: Thousands for Animal Rights

The worldwide bloodbath of factory farming, hunting, fishing, animal testing, etc. can be brought to an end.

Editorial Team Wild beim Wild — 28 April 2019

On 17 August 2019, tens of thousands of people around the world will once again take to the streets for animal rights. Including in Zurich!

The Animal Rights March Zurich is intended to be an expressive, peaceful demonstration against the discrimination of animals. It is an expression of the belief that the interests of “other sentient beings” must also be respected.

Rights should also be extended to non-human beings. Animals, too, have the right not to be killed, captured, tortured, or sold. Animals are sentient beings who feel pain, suffering, grief, and joy.

The event was founded in 2016 by Surge, an animal rights organisation in England. The march annually affirms the success of the vegan movement, but also serves as a platform to stand in solidarity with exploited animals.

In 2016, Surge brought together 2,500 people who marched peacefully through the centre of London, and in 2018 they even managed to mobilise 28,000 people worldwide to demonstrate in 25 cities across the globe and demand an end to all animal oppression.

Animal Rights March

The march is an expression of a society that has changed its attitude toward animals, and sets an example for a world that does not merely talk about animal welfare, but actually lives it.
