And as she continues to fight tirelessly for the planet, her fans seem more curious than ever about her future.

Many of her critics, however, have other concerns. Who supports Greta Thunberg, for example, and how does Thunberg obtain the money with which she funds her work?

Until Thunberg turned 18 in January 2021, she was supported by her parents. Thunberg's mother, Malena Ernman, is an opera singer, and her father, Svante Thunberg, is an actor. In March 2020, the Thunbergs published a book entitled «Our House Is on Fire». According to a Facebook post written by Thunberg, all proceeds from this book go to charitable causes.

«My parents pay for the tickets and the accommodation,» Thunberg explained. «I am not part of an organisation. And I do what I do entirely without remuneration.»

What is Greta Thunberg's net worth?

Various websites have estimated Greta Thunberg's net worth at around 1 million dollars. However, Thunberg has stated to The Independent that this figure is greatly exaggerated. Considering that she donates all the money, it is safe to say that a high net worth is not on Thunberg's list of priorities.

Is Greta Thunberg paid for her activism?

Thunberg was one of four recipients of the Right Livelihood Award, with a prize of around 103’000 dollars. According to her own statements, Greta Thunberg is not explicitly “paid” for her activism.

What does Greta Thunberg do with her money?

Most of the money Thunberg receives through her numerous awards and donations is used for charitable purposes. With the prize money, she founded the Greta Thunberg Foundation, an organisation that promotes ecological and social sustainability.

How does Greta Thunberg earn her living?

Thunberg's “only form of income is the scholarship she receives for her studies”. She will donate all proceeds from the sale of her climate book.

“It would be nice to have money, but with a donation I can, for example, spark a debate about the reintroduction of wildlife or nature conservation”, she told The Independent.
