Russia: Activist arrested with cow on Red Square
An American woman was arrested for walking a calf in the middle of Red Square in Moscow. She told police she had wanted to show the animal the city.
«Animals are not food»
An American-Chinese animal rights activist was arrested for walking a young cow near the Kremlin. The 34-year-old Alisa Dey said she had bought the calf online «so that it would not be eaten».
Police detained her as she walked the animal across Red Square, allegedly shouting «Animals are not food». She was sentenced to 13 days in detention and a fine of 20’000 rubles for disobedience.
