Shotgun blast hits passing car
On 9 March 2023, a 56-year-old hobby hunter attempted to shoot at a pigeon from his attic in the middle of Arnoldstein, Austria, using a shotgun. The direction of fire was aimed towards the heavily trafficked main road.
A police officer identified that the more than 100 bullet holes had come from a shotgun. Part of the shot pattern also struck the driver's side window. The driver was unharmed, likely also because the side window was closed.
Temporary weapons ban
A temporary weapons ban was issued against the man. Several hunting weapons were confiscated. More on the topic of Crime and hunting and Animal welfare problems of recreational hunting.
