Wildcat recolonises Aargau Jura
The wildcat can once again roam the forests of Aargau after a long absence. Surveys conducted between 2018 and 2020 show that the Aargau Jura is almost entirely recolonised. The greatest threat comes from domestic cats, which mate with wildcats.
Do not touch young kittens
The kittens are not necessarily orphaned and will later be cared for by their mother. Touching or capturing them is a criminal offence under wildlife law. More on the topic of species protection, biodiversity and Switzerland.
