The canton of Graubünden has recorded the longest known migration of a wolf in Europe to date. The Graubünden wolf M237 travelled 1,927 kilometres all the way to Hungary.
1’927 kilometres were covered by a wolf from the canton of Graubünden. This is a record in Europe. His journey took him through four countries, writes Kora.
Four countries visited
On his migration, the young wolf travelled through Switzerland, Italy, Austria and Hungary. He crossed diverse landscapes, from high alpine terrain to agricultural areas and urban settlements.
