Bavaria: Killed Foxes Displayed in Public
On a farm in Alxing, Bavaria, numerous dead foxes are being hung on display. PETA files a complaint. A disturbing find.
A pedestrian provided PETA with footage showing numerous hung foxes on display at the Doimahof farm in Alxing, Bavaria.
Complaint filed for public nuisance
The animal rights organisation filed a complaint for public nuisance under Section 118 of the German Act on Regulatory Offences with the Ebersberg district veterinary authority.
«It is reprehensible to senselessly kill foxes and then put them on public display on top of it all. Fox hunting is nothing more than a bloody hobby and must be banned.»
Nadja Michler, PETA's wildlife policy officer

Fox hunting is pointless
Nationwide, more than 400,000 foxes were killed during the last hunting season, with over 100,000 in Bavaria alone. PETA is calling for a nationwide ban on fox hunting. In Luxembourg, fox hunting has already been banned since April 2015. There is no justification for hunting these predators.
from either a wildlife biology or a public health perspective. Moreover, recreational hunting of foxes has nothing to do with species conservation. After all, in the last hunting season, recreational hunters in Bavaria alone killed more than 900 grey partridges in addition to the thousands of foxes. On top of that, recreational hunters across Germany kill more than 200,000 hares every year.
