Berlinale 2023 is meat- and dairy-free
After the Berlinale has been largely meat-free since 2020, dairy products will also be eliminated in 2023. All official festival events of the International Film Festival will feature vegan coffee specialties and ice cream from Oatly. Catering will also be exclusively meat-free.
The International Film Festival Berlin is, for the first time, forgoing animal products at all official festival events. Meat-free dishes are also being served at the Golden Globes and the Oscars.
Livestock farming is responsible for up to 20 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions, making it one of the main causes of the climate catastrophe.
