Neuchâtel introduces 0.5 per mille limit

In the canton of Neuchâtel, alcohol consumption during hobby hunting is now restricted. Neuchâtel thus becomes the first canton in French-speaking Switzerland and the second in Switzerland (after Zurich) to introduce an alcohol restriction of 0.5 per mille for hobby hunting. Violations may result in the revocation of the hunting licence for between one and five years.

Bern hesitates

In the canton of Bern there are around 2’700 hunting licence holders, overseen by just 31 game wardens. One game warden remarks: “They are armed! What comes out of a rifle can cost lives.” Currently, no regulations are planned. More on the topic of hunting legislation and crime and hunting.
