Recreational hunters caught by customs with trophies
Media outlets in French-speaking Switzerland, Ticino, and German-speaking Switzerland regularly report on illegal and criminal practices by recreational hunters operating under the umbrella of the militant organization Jagd Schweiz.
Customs officers seized a hunting rifle and ammunition last week during a check of two recreational hunters from Switzerland.
They stopped and searched the men's vehicle on the A96 motorway near the Humbrechts rest stop.
One of the two was carrying a hunting rifle and ammunition for which he had no valid firearms permit. The eco-rambos were on their way to the Czech Republic and were carrying a total of three long guns.
One of the two weapons enthusiasts had not properly registered his Blaser R8 in his European Firearms Pass. The customs officers subsequently confiscated the weapon and initiated criminal proceedings. In addition, they collected €500 as security for the expected fine. Both men were then allowed to continue their journey, according to German customs authorities.
Evidently, these recreational hunters are neither well trained nor do they possess sound moral standards.
Particularly when it comes to hunting and recreational hunters, it is essential that the public watches very closely. Nowhere else is there so much manipulation through falsehoods and fake news.Violence and lies are two sides of the same coin. For decades, recreational hunting has been nothing other than a permanently costly construction site, a patchwork, and a source of conflict for politicians, forestry and agriculture, public administrations, the judiciary, health insurers, insurance companies, animal welfare, environmental and nature conservation organizations, the police, federal authorities, the media, and so on.
Any other organization with so much criminal energy would have long since come under the scrutiny of the federal prosecutor's office!
