Hunting Season Opens in the Jura

The general hunting season in the Jura was opened on Monday morning, 2.10.2023.

The 375 holders of a hunting licence are now permitted to kill roe deer and other animals for two months, with the quota set at 1’200 roe deer. Hobby hunters will lie in wait on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, block forest paths with their vehicles, disturb nature with unnecessary shooting, sabotage natural regulation, chase hunting dogs through the forest, indulge their pathological urge to kill and commit acts of animal cruelty.

Hunting President Against the Wolf

According to the anachronistic extremist Nicolas Wallimann, the Jura is not suitable for the presence of the wolf. The wolf could cause conflicts and lead to unnecessary expenditure. He also maintains that coexistence with the wolf is not possible.

In Switzerland there are, every year, more human casualties and fatalities caused by the risk group of hobby hunters than by Islamic terrorists, cults, the Mafia, wolves and biker gangs combined (as of 2017).

Wild Boar Damage Down by 30%

Hobby hunting for wild boar has been under way since the beginning of June and will continue until the end of February. Damage caused by wild boar in agricultural areas has decreased by 30% since this spring, yet the regulation of wild boar will continue through autumn and winter.

«The season will be similar to the last ones. One particular feature this year is the intense heat. The terrain is dry and the dogs are having difficulty picking up the tracks of the game,» says Nicolas Wallimann, president of the Jura cantonal hunters’ association, speaking to rfj.ch.
