Lies and Violence from the Association Jagd Schweiz
No country in the world has a higher proportion of threatened species than Switzerland. This is a SCANDAL and at the very least a SLAP IN THE FACE for all those responsible at the Association Jagd Schweiz, which has been politically complicit in this situation for decades through its lobbying influence.
On 24 February 2021, the umbrella organisation of recreational hunters sent a letter to Federal Councillor Simonetta Sommaruga, a copy of which is in the possession of IG Wild beim Wild.
The pitiful document by Anton Merkle (President) and David Clavadetscher (Executive Director) is, upon closer analysis, riddled with misinterpretations, false self-congratulation, incompetence, and outright lies.
Manipulative Hypocrisy
Already on page 1, it is falsely claimed that the vote on the Hunting Act of 27.9.2020 was won in areas where wolves do not even exist. During the parliamentary deliberations, various members of parliament proposed motions to place the potentially endangered ptarmigan and black grouse, as well as the threatened woodcock and brown hare, under protection. All of these motions failed.
The Ticino cantonal president Claudio Zali accordingly concludes that cooperation with the recreational hunters is only acceptable as long as it remains a one-way street in favour of wildlife killers.
Under federal law, no Swiss canton is required to permit recreational hunting. The Canton of Geneva has long since chosen this exemplary path.
Species Protection
This hunting association believes it has a right to kill for pleasure. The ptarmigan, like the black grouse, is listed not only by the FOEN as potentially endangered (NT) on the Red List in Switzerland.

A court in Bellinzona has confirmed the position of IG Wild beim Wild. The association Jagd Schweiz primarily cultivates a culture of disrespect and violence. Its members have connections to those in positions of power. Virtually everything that is cruel, unnecessary, and heartless is promoted by the association Jagd Schweiz.
Recreational hunting today is, at its core, simply criminal. It's just that our legal system has not yet come far enough to reflect this in criminal law.
Apparently, these hobby hunters are neither well trained nor do they possess a healthy moral hygiene.
Particularly when it comes to hunting and hobby hunters, it is essential that the public watches very closely. Nowhere else is there so much manipulation through falsehoods and fake news.Violence and lies are two sides of the same coin.For decades, recreational hunting has been nothing more than a permanently costly construction site, a patchwork, and a bone of contention for politics, forestry and agriculture, public administrations, the judiciary, health insurers, insurance companies, animal welfare, environmental and nature conservation organizations, the police, federal authorities, the media, and so on.
Any other organization with so much criminal energy would long since have been targeted by the federal prosecutor's office!
