Lifetime Hunting Licenses as a Covid Vaccination Incentive
To further increase vaccination rates, lotteries have been introduced across the American continent.
In Canada and the USA, lifetime hunting permits, firearms, and more are being used to mobilize people to get vaccinated.
Governors across the country have launched incentive programs to boost vaccination rates. Governor Asa Hutchinson offered Arkansas residents a free lottery ticket or a $20 voucher from the state Game and Fish Commission in exchange for getting vaccinated.
Missouri Governor Mike Parson launched a cash lottery program for vaccinations. Maryland Governor Larry Hogan introduced a similar program earlier in the year. In New Jersey, dinner at the Governor's mansion was offered as a prize in a vaccine lottery. At least a dozen states, including Louisiana, have offered seven-figure prizes.

The state of Utah is offering free beef and a year's supply of beef, pork, and poultry for a family of four in a lottery.
Mayor Bill de Blasio is offering $100 for vaccinations at some vaccination sites in New York City, after french fries at Shake Shack and Brooklyn Nets tickets failed to attract enough residents. Meanwhile, disgraced New York Governor Andrew Cuomo had hoped that free scratch cards worth $5 million would help encourage people to get vaccinated.
Lotteries and sweepstakes were also a popular tactic in Ohio, where 10 recently vaccinated winners each received a jackpot of $1 million, or at the IT company Leidos in Virginia, which donated a year's salary to 10 randomly selected employees who got vaccinated. Auburn University in Alabama awards prizes to encourage newly vaccinated students to return to learning on campus, including $1,000 scholarships, meal plans, and parking passes.
