Does the end justify the means in night hunting for wild boar?

Night hunting for wild boar in the Jura
The government has decided to allow the shooting of wild boar using new means until a later hour. Compensation paid by the canton rose from CHF 232,800 in 2015 to CHF 489,892 in 2019.
«This new measure does not replace or minimise all other measures», the canton announced on 6 July 2021.
Wild boar in the canton of Jura enjoy a closed season from the first of March to the first of July. For wild boar younger than two years of age, no closed season applies outside of forests.
Not the only canton
Hobby hunters wishing to go out on stalks during the September evenings must systematically report their position in advance by SMS to a central number and must be equipped with a mobile raised hide and a light source.
The politician was also surprised that a practice prohibited at the federal level was permitted at the cantonal level. «The The Federal Act provides for exceptions to the prohibition on the use of banned aids and devices in recreational hunting. It grants the cantons the power to do so», said the government.
Aids prohibited in recreational hunting
The following aids and methods may not be used in the practice of recreational hunting: traps (except box traps), snares, nets, limed rods, electronic sound playback devices, night-vision sighting devices, explosives, poison, crossbows, semi-automatic weapons with more than two cartridges, silencers, and much more.
In particular, the canton of Neuchâtel recently approved the introduction of a system for the nocturnal shooting of wild boar using artificial light sources.
