Citizen Animal – «Do Animals Have Civil Rights?»

In the documentary Citizen Animal, Oliver Kyr's family raises the question of the rights of animals on our planet.

10’000 kilometres for animal rights

The Pegasus family, consisting of parents Tatjana and Oliver and their four-year-old daughter Bonnie, travel through Europe to do for the animal world what its living fellow inhabitants cannot do alone: speak up and advocate for their rights.

The starting point is the Spanish municipality of Pedro Pérez Espinosa, which grants its dogs and cats rights that would otherwise be reserved for humans.

From Jane Goodall to behavioural researchers

Over the course of their more than 10’000-kilometre journey, the three engage in conversation with animal welfare officers, vegetarian chefs, lawyers, activists, business people, and behavioural researchers such as Jane Goodall, sparking discussions about love for animals and coexistence.
