Adidas presents first vegan football boot
Adidas launches the first vegan football boot. The gender-neutral PREDATOR FREAK is a limited edition free from animal materials.
The gender-neutral shoe in a limited edition is the latest iteration of the iconic PREDATOR.
It combines Stella McCartney's distinctive design, innovation and sustainable values with the expressive style and performance demands of world champion and Manchester United playmaker Paul Pogba. The two visionaries teamed up with adidas to unlock the potential of design, push boundaries and create with the planet in mind. The result is adidas's first football boot made from 100% vegan materials.
The collaboration originated in a conversation between Paul Pogba and Stella McCartney as part of the The Huddle Series by adidas in May 2020. The conversation, which took place during the lockdown period, not only revealed their shared passion for fashion, sport and branding, but also served to plant the seed for this groundbreaking football-fashion co-creation.

Paul Pogba was instrumental in the development of the PREDATOR FREAK, and this iteration is a breathtaking combination of football performance and creative expression. The distinctive silhouette and fresh white PRIMEKNIT upper are adorned with iconic leopard and Earth Protector graphics. The adidas DEMONSKIN rubber spikes, calibrated by computer algorithm to enable improved ball control and evasiveness, appear on the shoe in signal orange. Characteristic adidas Stella McCartney details include an opalescent finish as well as a metallic plate and heel logo in ombré rainbow colours — the first time a football boot has featured this element.
Since the beginning of my collaboration with adidas, we have continually pushed the boundaries of high fashion and performance wear. It is incredibly exciting to expand into the world of football with superstar Paul Pogba.

The Predator Freak is partly made from recycled materials. The collaboration on the design and the mutual exchange of ideas was a lot of fun. The shoe perfectly bridges the worlds of fashion and football and shows how we can continue to create with the planet in mind, adidas writes in a press release.
I am first and foremost a footballer, but I have a great interest in fashion and design and have always wanted to explore that further. This collaboration is something very special to me, because I have been a fan of Stella McCartney for a long time. When we met last year for The Huddle and came up with this idea, it was the perfect opportunity to create something. It was in the middle of a break from playing and I missed football so much that it was an incredible feeling to focus on something that combines my love for the game with my passion for style. The shoes we designed together with adidas are bold and unique, and I can't wait to wear them when I step out on the pitch.

The limited-edition gender-neutral PREDATOR FREAK P+ features a laceless construction and a comfortable, sock-like fit, while the laced P1 model comes with a lower collar and a similarly sock-like wearing experience.
A limited number of shoes will be available exclusively via the adidas App from 22 October and from www.adidas.com/football and selected retailers from 1 November.
