Bear Gaia captured
Bruno's sister was captured. She had killed a jogger around two weeks ago.
Bear JJ4 captured
During the night, bear JJ4 was taken into custody. The animal had already attacked two hikers in June 2020 and in April 2023 killed 26-year-old runner Andrea Papi in the forests of Monte Peller.
Killing order suspended
The Administrative Court of the Trentino region suspended the killing order and left open the possibility of capture. The bear will be housed at the Casteller wildlife center until a decision is reached. More on the topic of species protection and animal rights.
