Criminal complaint for illegal marketing

The Committee Against Bird Slaughter has filed a complaint against Jens Gebhardt, a hobby hunter from Lorsch in Hesse, on suspicion of illegally marketing shot Canada geese.

On his website the man offers the species of goose, even though it may not be marketed according to the provisions of the Federal Wildlife Protection Ordinance This regulation is intended to restrict the commercial hobby hunting of certain wild animals.

Recurring illegal listings

In recent years, the Committee has repeatedly found such illegal listings, most recently swan breast fillets and woodcock in restaurants, or feathers from shot jays that had been used in hat pins. More on this under Crime and Hunting.
