French Court Halts Wind Energy Projects
Industrial wind power has conquered France, leaving behind a devastated landscape and an outraged population. Despite its claim to be an ecological solution, massive wind turbines are proving to be a disaster for the environment and cultural heritage.
Historic Revocation of Permits
France has now issued a historic revocation of wind energy permits and the court compels comprehensive environmental assessments.
The Council of State's decision is not an isolated case in Europe. In Ireland, a Supreme Court judge recently ruled that the noise caused by wind turbines could be considered a nuisance.
The environmental associations are celebrating the Council of State's ruling as “a landmark success for environmental protection, the health of local residents, and compliance with legal requirements.”
They denounce a “systematic disregard of these regulations by state authorities,” whose sole objective had been “to push forward the construction of wind turbines in the face of growing public resistance, particularly in rural regions.”
Serious Impact on Energy Strategy
Furthermore, the French state now finds itself obliged to pay compensation to the plaintiff associations. The association emphasises that this judicial decision “will have a serious impact on France's future energy strategy.”
Progress in the development of onshore wind energy in France is experiencing a temporary standstill, until new permits and regulatory frameworks compliant with legal requirements are established.

Catastrophic Transformation of the Landscape
Industrial wind turbines are by no means architectural elements that integrate harmoniously into our landscape, but rather represent an increasingly aggressive assault on our environment. All too often, these imposing structures are portrayed by those who profit financially from their construction as symbols of modernity and sustainable development, and as symbols of “green” ecology. In reality, however, these imposing structures conceal a catastrophic transformation of the landscape.
The visual impact of onshore wind turbines is merely the tip of the iceberg. The industrial wind power craze also requires the construction of a gigantic electricity grid with thousands of pylons, transformers, and thousands of kilometres of high-voltage power lines, further blighting the environment and putting biodiversity at even greater risk. The ecological consequences of this uncontrollable proliferation are catastrophic: natural habitats are being destroyed and protected species are under threat.
Tolerance for these monstrosities in France is now close to zero, unless operators quietly pay a few bribes.
