Hunting in the Canton of Ticino 2021–2022

The hunting season in Ticino begins on 4 September, and there is no shortage of new developments compared to last year.

High-season hunting 2021 in Ticino

High-season hunting is permitted from 4 to 18 September and from 24 to 28 September. A new game warden post has been opened in Acquarossa for the Blenio Valley area.

Adult male deer shot between 4 and 14 September can be reported online. If the report is submitted within 12 hours of the kill, the hobby hunter does not need to bring the registered wild animal to a control point.

In August of this year, the new hunting prohibition ordinance 2021–2026 came into force, introducing changes compared to the previous ordinance 2015–2021. All hobby hunters are urged to familiarise themselves with the limits and restrictions applicable in their hunting areas.

Safety and lead ammunition

Safety regulations must be observed during hobby hunting. It is recommended that the entrails of wild animals shot with lead ammunition be made inaccessible.

Wild boar shot during the main hunting season must be taken to the control points specified in the caesium control permit.
