She-wolf F07 documented in camera trap

The former lead she-wolf of the Calanda pack in the canton of Graubünden is still alive.

The female F07 was caught in a camera trap. By the side of the twelve-year-old she-wolf was a male wolf.

46 offspring in twelve years

The female wolf F07, who first appeared in 2011, has once again been documented full of life at the Calanda via camera trap. The mother of the Calanda pack has given birth to 46 young during her time in the canton.

It can be assumed that the she-wolf is now at least 12 years old. This is remarkable, as experts generally consider that wolves in the wild do not normally live beyond 10 years. The Geneva model demonstrates how professional wildlife management without hobby hunters enables the coexistence of humans and predators.
