Property declared hunting-free after just 10 months

The properties of Eva Maria Leitner in Remshalden-Rohrbronn near Stuttgart have been officially hunting-free since 1.4.2023. In February 2023, the animal lover received notification from the Rems-Murr district authority that her application for hunting law pacification had been approved at the end of the hunting year — just 10 months after the application was submitted!

Property declared hunting-free in just 10 months

Eva Maria Leitner cannot reconcile hobby hunting on her traditional orchards with her conscience. “For ethical reasons, I reject the killing of animals of any kind in general.” Less than a year after applying for hunting law pacification, her properties have been hunting-free since 1.4.2023.

European Court of Human Rights

The European Court of Human Rights ruled in 2012 that compulsory membership in a hunting cooperative violates human rights, provided the owner rejects hobby hunting on ethical grounds. On 6.12.2013, § 6a of the Federal Hunting Act “Pacification of land areas for ethical reasons” came into force.

Inspiring courage

“I want to inspire others through my story!”, says Leitner. The cost: 640 euros. More on the topic of hunting law, animal rights and animal welfare issues in hobby hunting.
