Animal milk is increasingly falling out of fashion among Swiss consumers. Milk has long since lost its innocent image and must now face questions about animal welfare and the environment.
Swiss milk: no reason to celebrate
Today's Swiss milk is neither healthy, nor does it deserve a national holiday. Since 2017, demand for animal-suffering-free milk alternatives has been steadily increasing.
No fun for young and old
Cows today produce twice as much milk as they did 50 years ago and end up in the slaughterhouse far too soon. Cows could live to be 20 years old, yet on average they are disposed of at the age of seven. Swiss farmers are the largest fine particulate matter offenders, responsible for 37% of all fine particulate matter emissions (Source: FOEN).
