Valais: Wolf and horse found dead with gunshot wounds
In Valais, a wolf and a horse were found dead with gunshot wounds. Investigations are underway; the perpetrators are unknown.

On 2 October 2022, a dead wolf was discovered in Termen.
It is now being transported to the animal hospital in Berne. Initial examinations indicate that the wolf has a gunshot wound.
A third party informed the cantonal office for hunting, fishing and wildlife about the discovery of a dead wolf in a meadow near the forest boundary in the municipality of Termen.
The cantonal police subsequently went to the scene to recover the dead wolf. The animal is now being transported to the animal hospital in Berne. Initial findings indicate that the dead wolf has a gunshot wound.
In order to determine the exact circumstances of this incident, the public prosecutor's office has launched an investigation in cooperation with the cantonal police.
Dead horse discovered
On 30 September 2022, a horse was found dead in Grengiols, at a location known as "Viertel". It had a gunshot wound. An investigation has been launched.
Third parties informed the cantonal office for hunting, fishing and wildlife about the discovery of a dead horse. The gelding had a gunshot wound. Initial findings suggest that the animal was shot accidentally.
The public prosecutor's office has launched an investigation in cooperation with the cantonal police to determine the exact circumstances of this incident.
