Squirrel chases man until police arrive

«Help, I'm being followed by a squirrel!» With these words, a man called the Karlsruhe police emergency line on Thursday at around 8:00 in the morning. The officers didn't hesitate long and sent a patrol to Erzbergerstraße to look into the matter.

Police christen the squirrel «Karl-Friedrich»

The officers did indeed find the man there, being pursued by the persistent little creature. While the officers from the Karlsruhe-Marktplatz police station assessed the situation on the spot, the squirrel apparently provided plenty of amusement and excitement. This is evidenced by an excerpt from the report: «Squirrel becomes new mascot, has been christened with the name: Karl-Friedrich.» Followed by the note: «The squirrel has fallen asleep from the shock.»

«Karl-Friedrich» was taken into police custody and brought to the station. There, accommodation was immediately arranged for the little squirrel, which had apparently been searching for a new home. The animal is now in a wildlife rescue centre and is being very well looked after. More on wildlife.
