The large hobby hunter radar

Hundreds of violations of hunting laws are documented annually in Switzerland: illegal traps, poisoned bait, poaching, and violations of closed seasons. Many of these are never reported because walkers, hikers, and nature lovers don't know where to turn.

We're changing that. Report your suspected case directly here.

What you can report

You can report any suspected case you observe in nature to us:

  • Prohibited traps or poisoned bait
  • Poaching or hunting outside of closed seasons
  • Suspected violations of the Animal Welfare Act during hunting
  • Hunting in protected areas or restricted areas
  • Suspected persons who may have committed a wildlife crime
  • Acts of violence or threats by hobby hunters against individuals
  • Positive observations and good news from nature are also welcome.

If you have photo or video material, send it to us along with a short description: what, when, where.

Here's how to proceed

  1. First, inform the authorities: Report every suspected case to the local game warden and/or the police simultaneously. At a potential crime scene: Do not disturb the location where the body was found.
  2. Document as thoroughly as possible: photos, videos, GPS coordinates or a precise location description will greatly help us and the authorities.
  3. Report the incident to us: Use the form below. All information will be treated with absolute confidentiality.

We investigate every report and, if necessary, contact the relevant authorities. Unfortunately, we cannot follow up on reports without contact information or verifiable details.

The Swiss Hunting Association

Hunting Switzerland is the umbrella organization for Swiss recreational hunters. According to its statutes, the association represents the interests of approximately 30,000 recreational hunters from all parts of the country, both domestically and internationally. In its capacity as a militant organization, it bears the responsibility for the existence of this questionable association in Switzerland, whose members, according to media reports, are demonstrably involved in thousands of legal violations each year, including breaches of hunting laws, poaching, arms smuggling, environmental and traffic offenses, animal welfare violations, and other crimes.

Legal notice

Documenting hunting activities in the field can raise legal issues, especially if private property is entered. Do not enter private property without permission. All published factual statements about persons or events must be verifiable. The IG Wild beim Wild (Wildlife Interest Group) assumes no liability for the actions of third parties.

Reporting form

We assure you that all information will be treated with absolute confidentiality.
