Germany: No Data on Damage Caused by Invasive Species
Most of the non-native vertebrate species living in the wild in Germany were intentionally introduced as pets, zoo animals, or livestock: the import vectors of ornamental trade and wildlife parks account for more than 70 percent and are the most significant. Fisheries, aquaculture, animal husbandry, and hunting also rank among the important import vectors for wild-living non-native vertebrate species.

The Federal Ministry for the Environment is forced, in a response to an AfD inquiry to admit: «The Federal Government has no information on the forestry or agricultural damage caused by invasive non-native animal species.»
Figures Pulled from Thin Air
The numerous claims circulating in the media and among hunting associations about major damage caused by invasive animals are highly questionable. The raccoon is not even mentioned in the statement.
