In China, 174 foxes have been rescued from a cruel fur farm. The animals lived under merciless conditions and were bred for their fur.

These foxes feel freedom for the first time after being rescued from a fur farm.

Videos of white foxes being freed from tiny cages show the animals at a Buddhist rescue centre. They are housed in this temporary shelter until rescue workers in China build them a dedicated enclosure.

Rescue by Animal Activist Bohe

The foxes were rescued in China by animal activist Bohe, who, like Karen Gifford, helps raise awareness in her efforts to save dogs from meat farm operations.

The farmed foxes are born in spring and skinned in winter, Gifford revealed on Facebook. “It is absolutely horrific.”

Since the animals are not wild, they cannot be released into the wilderness. Instead, the foxes will be given a protected garden in the future where they can live out the rest of their days. The fur industry is closely intertwined with recreational hunting — read more under Animal Rights.

Fur Business No Longer Profitable

Gifford revealed that the foxes were rescued when Bohe and her followers learned that the fox breeders were closing their business because they were no longer making enough money from it.

The 174 foxes were loaded onto trucks and transported to the Buddhist Jilin Nursing Garden in Mudanjiang, China.

Gifford shared videos and photos showing the foxes being let out of their cages for the first time in their lives. For more articles on this topic, see the category Wildlife.
